Description

Company Overview:

We are a licensed Hong Kong Trust and Company Service Provider (TCSP) delivering AML/CFT compliance, international trade risk, and counterparty risk management solutions to both regulated and non-regulated sectors through our proprietary Counterparty Risk Management Services (CRMS) framework.

CRMS is a tenant-based compliance and risk management infrastructure designed to support publicly listed companies, non-regulated private enterprises, regulated financial institutions, professional firms, nonprofit and for-profit organisations, and Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs) operating across domestic and cross-border environments.

Our framework requires sub-tenant, counterparty, and third-party pre-qualification as a mandatory prerequisite to onboarding, followed by risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, and financial crime prevention measures. This approach strengthens governance resilience and regulatory alignment, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated before any business relationship is established with our Partners, who operate as Tenants within the CRMS framework.

Role Overview:

The Director of Transaction Risk Services operates with an established Tenant portfolio and originates engagements by introducing those Tenants to the Company’s CRMS for adoption as part of an ongoing commercial relationship.

The role is commercially focused and revenue-generating. It positions the Company’s CRMS framework as an outsourced solution for Tenants operating in regulated, professional, trade-facing, and DNFBP environments, covering governance, compliance, transaction risk, financial crime, and international trade risk.

The Director owns and manages introduced Tenant relationships end-to-end and acts as the primary commercial relationship lead. Any governance, risk, compliance, or trade-related insight provided is ancillary to, and solely in support of, CRMS adoption, integration, expansion, and long-term commercial value for Tenants.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Director of Transaction Risk Services is accountable for originating, owning, and expanding Tenant relationships by successfully positioning and adopting the Company’s CRMS framework.
  • The role leads Tenant-facing commercial engagement across the CRMS lifecycle, from initial introduction through integration and ongoing expansion. This includes shaping how CRMS is adopted across relevant business units, governance functions, and transaction-risk domains to support AML/CFT compliance, counterparty and third-party risk management, international trade risk considerations, and financial crime prevention.
  • The Director positions CRMS as a long-term, embedded solution rather than a one-off engagement and remains commercially accountable for Tenant satisfaction, retention, and revenue outcomes arising from CRMS adoption.
  • Governance, compliance, transaction risk, and trade-related insights are provided strictly to support CRMS commercial outcomes for Tenants. Such insight is not delivered as standalone advisory work and does not constitute board participation, fiduciary responsibility, or regulated advisory activity.
  • Where applicable, the Director supports Tenants operating in financial services, professional services, trade-facing, and DNFBP environments by positioning CRMS as an integrated framework for AML/CFT controls, sanctions screening, anti-bribery and corruption risk mitigation, onboarding, counterparty pre-qualification, and ongoing monitoring, aligned with relevant regulatory expectations.
  • Execution, delivery, and operational implementation of CRMS services are performed by the Company or its designated service teams unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Director does not perform execution or delivery work but retains commercial ownership of the Tenant relationship.
  • Where requested by the Company, the Director may accept an Acting Chief Financial Officer appointment under pre-agreed terms, providing financial oversight and strategic support aligned to CRMS-enabled governance objectives for Tenants. Such appointments do not alter success-based compensation arrangements or create entitlement to additional remuneration.

What We Offer

  • Partnership-based revenue sharing, directly aligned to the Tenants, relationships, and mandates originated by the Director.
  • Hybrid working model, offering flexibility, autonomy, and independence consistent with a senior commercial role.
  • Executive-level onboarding and ongoing professional training (mandatory) covering the Company’s CRMS framework, methodologies, and applicable AML/CFT, financial crime, and international trade practices relevant to the jurisdictions, sectors, and Tenant base in which the Director operates.
  • Access to proprietary compliance tools, frameworks, and senior management support to enable scalable Tenant delivery, commercial growth, and long-term relationship development.
  • Optional Acting CFO appointment, where requested by the Company, under pre-agreed terms, providing financial oversight and strategic support aligned to CRMS-enabled governance objectives; such appointments do not alter success-based compensation arrangements or create entitlement to additional remuneration.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience & Qualifications
    • 10+ years’ experience in compliance, governance, risk management, transaction risk, financial crime, or related financial advisory roles.
    • Established Client base within public companies, financial institutions, professional firms (legal, accounting, corporate services), lending businesses, and/or DNFBP sectors.
    • Demonstrated track record of originating and managing Client engagements involving AML/CFT, counterparty risk management, and regulatory compliance.
    • Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
    • Strong working knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption controls, and counterparty and third-party due diligence practices.
    • Familiarity with compliance technology, workflow automation, and AI-enabled risk and screening tools.
    • Strong people and communication skills; active listening; advanced computing and technology know-how; project management and organisational abilities; high ethical standards; analytical, research, and critical-thinking expertise; effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), with the ability to produce high-quality client-facing and internal deliverables; demonstrates strong organisational, project management, and collaborative working skills, including the ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently.
